1-Day Conference
The upcoming conference promises to be a comprehensive and engaging experience. Participants can look forward to discussions on research skills, highlighting effective information-locating, gathering, analysis, and synthesizing strategies. Participants will acquire insights into the integration of technology and AI in education, understanding their impact on information literacy development, and exploring innovative pedagogical approaches to include in the library curriculum framework. The workshop will also shed light on ethical use of information and media in academics. Additionally, the workshops will include the importance of library curriculum, news, media, information, and coding literacy. The conference aims to provide participants with a deeper understanding of these topics and their significance in the current educational landscape.
Shobha Vishwanath
Co-founder and Publishing Director of Karadi Tales Company, Shobha Viswanath has been responsible for steering the direction of the publishing house. She has also authored over twenty books, been translated into multiple languages such as Korean and German, and has had books published by Puffin and Scholastic. Shobha’s efforts are focused on reclaiming a place for Indian literature for children in the picture book format.
Writers’ Workshop
How to Write to Create a Picture Book?
Over half a day, Karadi Tales Publishing Director Shobha Viswanath will take participants through how to read and write picture books for children – the relationship between pictures and words in a picture book, introduction to different formats of picture books, the elements of a good picture book, the dos and don’ts of picture book writing, and more. Get ready for plenty of refreshing writing exercises and lively discussions on some popular picture books for children.

Aastha was born and raised in Surat. Aastha is a Lawyer by profession, she completed her B.A.L.L.B (Cons.) from Nirma University, Ahmedabad. After completing her Law degree, she practised law for a few years by working as an Assistant Legal Advisor at Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA). Kuntal Bhandare is a dedicated and passionate school librarian with 22
years of comprehensive experience in school libraries, including 15 years in the International Baccalaureate (IB) system. She holds a Master’s in Library Science and co-founded the Liferarian Association. As an IBO Programme Leader and Extended Essay Examiner, Kuntal brings her knowledge and expertise to her position. Additionally, she is an experienced Extended Essay Coordinator and a core member of the International Collaboration for Extended Essay.
